While waiting in line at my local NCIX (go there if you know what computer parts you want and if you have the patience of Job), I saw more netbooks on display at the counter than I have seen to date. Asus and Acer were the first companies pushing these mini notebooks that cost around $300 and do everything you need.

Asus Netbook
Some run Linux and some run XP, but they all do one thing: allow you to get online easily and quickly and do the majority of things you need to do. With more and more of the applications that we use becoming web-based, powerful desktops and laptops are only needed for CPU intensize games or graphic designing. These netbooks are small–if you have trouble seeing images on a 17″ display–these are not for you. If you are looking for light, snappy and functional–check them out.
